This programme acts as the Regional Presence for Offender Health in the region, introducing policy, developing practice and supporting the Strategic Health Authority (SHA), the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), the Director of Offender Management (DOM) and the Area Office of the prison service with performance management for Health and Offender Partnerships (HOPs).
Programme staff also have a level of regional expertise and provide day to day operational management oversight of health and social care across the criminal justice system in the region.
The work of the Offender Health and Social Care programme in Yorkshire and Humber falls into 9 areas:
