Regional Innovation Fund - call for second round of applications

NHS Yorkshire and Humber has been funded by the Dept of Health to establish a Regional Innovation Fund (RIF) to promote innovation in the NHS.

The first call for applications closed on 31 st October. An assessment of the applications is currently underway. Feedback on funding decisions will be provided by the applicants lead PCT in the week of 14 th December.

There are now calls for a second wave of applications.

The RIF is an “invest to save” scheme focusing on supporting innovations in the following 5 areas:

  • Developing innovative, self improving systems
  • Delivery of the Healthy Ambitions pathway priorities
  • Accelerating the uptake of TeleHealth technology to improve the quality and efficiency of care for people with long term conditions
  • Improving provider quality and efficiency through innovation
  • Improving the quality and efficiency of health and healthcare through the commissioning of innovative, high quality, efficient services.

Applications are invited from both NHS and non-NHS organisations . All applications will need to be made through the applicants lead PCT.
