Dignity Action Day - February 25th

Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people's rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people in care are treated as individuals, are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives and provide stimulating activities. Dignity Action day asks everybody - members of the public and Health and Social Care staff to give the gift of time. We can all make a difference!

There is lots going on in the region so if you haven’t already planned something check out the activities in your locality and see how you can get involved. Once you’ve decided on how you will spend your time – PLEDGE IT on the DH website. This not only shows the activity throughout the region but also helps others to pick up tips or volunteer their time for an activity where its needed. Every small pledge can make a big difference in someones life.

I have made my own pledge to volunteer to help out at a ‘Make a Difference’ Event at the Midland Hotel in Bradford. I’m really looking forward to spending the afternoon reminiscing over fond memories with lots of older people. We’re having a fun quiz, Tea and Cake and a really good sing song!

If you need additional support with activities please let me know. I am happy to support events in any way I can.
