In Sheffield, Enhancing Pathways into Care (EPIC) aims to help African and Caribbean mental health service users ‘access the right treatment at the right time.' Our activities focus on:

1. Making access available to the most appropriate services to meet an individual's needs.

2. Improving access to other forms of treatment by facilitating timely discharge.

3. Enabling mainstream services to be more responsive to the needs of African and Caribbean patients.

A dedicated link worker from SACHMA works closely with the home treatment team and the patient inpatient wards. This ensures that service users benefit receive the most culturally appropriate care possible.
