Early Intervention in Psychosis

This programme aims to enable mental health communities to access expert developmental support so that they can provide effective early intervention in psychosis services.

The NHS Operating Framework 07/08 stresses the need for further progress against recovery plans in commissioning services for people needing early intervention.

Emerging psychosis and young people: What you need to know.Guidance to help front line practitioners do a difficult job better. November 1st 2007 saw the launch of a new collaboration to secure earlier intervention in psychosis in the very early part of the care pathway. NIMHE has facilitated the bringing together of expert practitioners from the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Psychological Society to develop this guidance for front line colleagues.
