Contemporary approaches to Recovery do not necessarily consider the beliefs and needs of people who have no western origins.
The disproportionate representation of BME communities within the psychiatric system has been a subject of much concern over the last 40 yrs, what is not up for debate are the consequences relative to both human and economic costs. In the current climate and where organisations are grappling with the QIPP agenda this innovative tool has the potential to deliver better outcomes for service users and carers experiences.
This event is for anyone with the responsibility to impact upon service user experience and outcomes (both clinically and operationally). Teams and individuals who will have responsibilities for Care Pathways and Packages (clusters/PBR). Organisations who want to engage in improvements relative to annual Care Quality Commission’s Inspection.
We welcome all; Service Users and Carers, Clinicians – ward staff, CMHT’S, Voluntary and community sector organisations, Commissioners, Equality and Diversity Leads, Quality Leads/Operational managers, Mental Health Provider Trusts, Health Delivery Partnerships, Community Development Workers (CDW’s) and managers.
We are very pleased that guest speakers Dame Christine Beasley Chief Nurse, Department of Health, Prof. Suman Fernando Hon. Senior Lecturer in Mental Health University of Kent, Visiting Professor London Metropolitan University have agreed to support this launch and are able to contextualise this recovery tool.
