What might the imminent 'No Secrets' guidance mean to the NHS?

The SHA are pleased to be hosting this event to look at developing an interface between patient safety and adult safeguarding.

The aims of the day are:

  • To understand some of the possible implications of the revised  No Secrets guidance to the NHS
  • To test out a model for adult safeguarding which links prevention, early intervention with formal safeguarding
  • To understand better when incidents should be investigated ‘in house’ and when a multi-agency response is needed
  • To map safeguarding onto clinical governance/ SUI processes/data analysis
  • To share practice and challenges across the region

 Speakers will include

  • Sylvia Manson, NHS lead within the DH No Secrets team
  • Geraldine Sands; Safeguarding lead, NHS Yorkshire and the Humber

Target Audience:

Each PCT executive safeguarding can invitee a maximum of 5 people from their local economy to this event, including, for example:

  • PCT designated adult safeguarding lead
  • Safeguarding lead(s) from key commissioned provider(s)
  • LA adult safeguarding lead
  • Patient safety lead(s)
  • GP consortia representative(S)
